Although more of my energy is focused on work for Belle Point Press these days, I’ve still managed to get a few recent publications. I’m especially proud of these two new essays.
The Other Journal included this piece in their Fall 2022 Organizing Issue: “Drink to the Dregs, Polish John.” It offers a glimpse into a complicated year I spent living and working in a Chicago soup kitchen, finding myself between religious traditions and not quite sure where to go.

Oxford American also included my essay “Johnny Cash, Pray for Me” in this year’s Country Roots Music Issue. It explores my journey through motherhood and religious conversion, finding myself somewhere between heaven and earth.

This winter, I’m working on a couple of new essays, and I have a few Arkansas poems forthcoming in the next issue of Arkansas Review. Meanwhile, I’m revisiting some poetry manuscripts and figuring out what to do with them next.
